About Westbury Park Engineering
Introduction
Formed in 1983, our privately owned company, has been located in its present manufacturing site in Westbury, Wiltshire for the last 18 years and has continued to achieve sustained growth. With the size of our internal fabrication facility, lifting capacity and external assembly and storage areas we are now one of the largest fabricators in the South West of England.
We are committed to delivering first class fabrications and engineering solutions to our clients and have a successful trading history with multinational organisations and have cemented client relationships with partnerships and joint ventures on numerous projects.
Our manufacturing facilities and quality procedures are fully equipped for the process and handling of large contracts. We are accredited to ISO 9001-2008 by Bureau Veritas, Certificate No: 31191 valid until October 2012 and have invested in the latest technologies and handling equipment for the preparation, assembly, welding and surface treatment of materials in carbon and stainless steel grades.
Our engineering division is experienced in a variety of industries and our ability in being able to invest in clients individual requirements has enabled us to enhance a profitable relationship with our clients. Our project management of contracts using 3D design software and management systems ensures we can offer turnkey solutions to suit our client's needs.
We have a highly skilled workforce in the fabrication and welding of steel and offer coded welders in a variety of process and materials. Our health and safety and environmental policies along with continued assessment of the workforce skills, ensures our key staff remain within the company. We offer experienced site teams to carry out site installation work who are CSCS certificated.
Detailed below are contracts and industries that we have completed work on.
Structural Steelwork
We have a reputation for manufacturing high end complex and architectural assemblies. Typical structural contracts average between 25 to 400 tons. Contracts have been undertaken for members of the BSCA in major cities relating to commercial, residential, industrial and education sectors and include:
- BAA manufacture of support structures, bridges and staircases for Heathrow and Gatwick Airports.
- Network Rail manufacture and upgrading on various SME and access structures in the London area.
- Modular fabrication for the installations of lift shafts and portal frame buildings.
- Architectural steel frameworks to support glazed panels/glass walls.
- Feature hand railing, spiral staircases and balconies in carbon and stainless steel materials.
Modular Buildings
In a various Joint Venture agreements we have completed the manufacture of modular buildings for the MOD and education sectors as follows:
- HMS Nelson 400 units.
- HMS Marchwood 350 units.
- Southampton University 120 units.
Materials Handling
- Hanson Plc design, manufacture and installation of storage bins and docking ramps for tarmac manufacture.
- Nestles Ground Coffee Plant supply and installation of ducting systems.
- Thames Water, Beckton and Crossness STW installation of sludge mixing equipment.
- Design, manufacture and installation of silos and materials handling equipment for Sawdust Plants.
- Pedigree Pet Foods design and manufacture of 22 bulk material storage silos.
- Manufacture and install ash handling equipment for incineration plants in the UK.
- Design, manufacture and installation of a small coal handling plant and installation of 100 ton capacity cement storage silo.
Environmental
- Fabrication of silencers, air conditioning, plenium and air filter assemblies.
- Manufacture of various scrubber units in carbon and stainless steel.
- RAF Farnham manufacture of ducting for noise test facility for jet engine testing.
- Supply and installation of bag filter and associated structures for municipal waste incineration in Belgium, Sweden and UK installations.
- British Steel, Port Talbot Works manufacture of fume extraction ducting and support steelwork for secondary ventilation system.
- Dickinson Legg manufacture of tobacco bed dryers and tables.
Water/Gas Industries
- Wessex Water manufacture and installation of sewage treatment equipment.
- Upgrading of existing water and sewage treatment sites to conform to latest environmental and safety legislation. Clients include Wessex Water and Thames Water.
- Manufacture of pipe laying machinery for the refurbishment of water and gas mains.
- Design, manufacture and installation of access stairs, safety handrail and lifting beams to Bio Fuel plant.
- Manufacture of warm and cold end gas processing fabrications and control units for Linde Gas.
Petrochemical
- Numerous skid frame fabrications varying between 2 and 25 tons for use in off shore oil fields.
- Ground flares assemblies and structures for Gas Gathering complexes for UK and worldwide. Installation, including a 136m high self support flare structure for Qatar via JGC, 60m self support flare structure for Oman via Chiyoda - Foster Wheeler, 30m high ground flare for Dalmeny, Scotland via BP/AMEC.
- Supply of 180 m high flare support derrick structure for installation in Singapore and a 3m diameter 30m high Ground Flare for Teeside via Fluor Daniel/Union Carbide.
- Supply of various waste heat recovery units with large diameter stainless steel ducting for floating platform project in Alaska.
Nuclear Projects
- Manufacture of nuclear fuel handling tower for refuelling Trident Submarines at Devonport dockyards. Including design and manufacture of access platforms to withstand seismic events.
- Fabrication of various stainless steel fabrications for operating in corrosive environments for storage of nuclear fuel rods.
- Manufacture of radiation shields and bottling handling fabrications.
